Derailleur hangers are the least attractive thing to go on a bike and we never really think of stocking up on them until they break, but it protects the frame of your bike. Derailleur hangers have many names such as mech hangers, mech dropouts, cast hangers, mountain bike hangers and hanger dropout (the list is endless). Each mech hanger is designed to either bend or snap, to prevent any damage being done to the main body. It is always recommended to carry a spare mech hanger as they can bend or snap at any given time. Once snapped, the bike can’t be ridden otherwise you’ll cause more damage to the bike.
Derailleur 403 has been designed to fit the Boardman 650B Team and Pro FS 2016/2017, MTR 8.9, MTR 9.0. If you’re unsure whether this mech hanger is compatible with your bike, drop us an email. Please note. This hanger is designed only for the Boardman MTB bikes and NOT the Boardman Road bikes. For the Road bikes you will need 403-RD. The difference between the 2 hangers is the 403-MTB is thicker where the rear mech fixes to the hanger and the 403-RD is thinner to allow the rear mech to drop the chain onto the smallest gear on the cassette. If in doubt please call us or email us for help.
