The Solution for Leaking Fork Seals

Fox Fork Seals-0

For regular MTB riders, wear and tear over time can cause multiple issues with your bike’s components. A part that can often cause drastic issues is the fork seal of a bike, with damaged components leading to reduced riding performance and efficiency. If your fork seals are leaking, there may be a number of reasons why, including general wear and tear, and dirt & debris ingress. Whatever the cause is for your bike’s leaking fork seals, timely replacement is essential to prevent suspension system failure.

Why Are My Fork Seals Leaking?

Over time, rough terrain and heavy riding means that fork seals can be worn down drastically. This leads to oil leaking out, or even water leaking inwards. Although each bike’s fork seal should ideally be replaced after around 40 hours of riding, it’s important to carry out regular checks just in case – particularly if you are going on gruelling rides. Another reason for leaking fork seals may be the ingress of debris. Dirt, mud, and gravel can get in between the seal and the inner fork tube, creating an imperfect seal which can lead to leaks.
